Our history

In January 2022 George moved on from the highly successful Second-Helpings, Stamford needing to work in a new direction.

Founded by George 8 years previously, the project had fed in the region of 75,000 people, collected and distributed 235,000kg of food, and saved 200kg of co2 each year.

Already George’s new Food Hub is delivering food to three Peterborough projects which are working to feed in the region of 700 people in need each week, including many who are homeless. Food is being collected from four suppliers in the area donating a wide range of food items enabling folk to obtain good wholesome food. More details of all supporting suppliers will be made on the website shortly.

BIG NEWS; OUR FIRST HUB is on the way. Forms to sign, walls and ceiling to paint, electricians needed to wire up for fridges and freezers, banners and leaflets to design and print, a van to buy and have signed, new sources of food to establish, and new volunteers to enrol……….think that’s all but probably will find something else along the way. In other words NEARLY THERE. !!! Well we have a bank account ready, what more could we want. Will tell you where, possibly next time. Interested? Call me 07891 437914, George.
